This young family chose Harrington Kitchens to be a part of their glamorous new build located in the Illawarra region of NSW. Such proximity to the coastline is reflected in their colour selection.

Their two-tone Hampton kitchen uses matt Dulux Lexicon quarter, with the island in Dulux Diesel Engine for spatial layering. To create textural layering, the client decided the island with the York proud kicks were to be hand painted so you can see each individual brush stroke. For extra detail, all internal cabinets, including drawers were in Polytec Woodmatt Prime Oak.

The polished Statuario Ondea Cicero stone was highly considered to match the brushed brass of the Brodware Winslow Kitchen Mixer which sits atop a white double fluted butlers sink.  The fluted pattern of the sink is reflected in the fluted glass of the upper cabinets either side of the Hamptons rangehood. The detailed capping completes the tall cabinetry, and three glass pendants complete the island.

Rippled beige tiles adorn the splashback for both the kitchen and the hidden butler’s pantry. The brushed brass Zip Tap generates instant hot water, removing the need for a kettle and allows for more bench space.

A Fisher & Paykel fully integrated fridge is discreetly concealed behind cabinetry, along with an integrated Asko dishwasher and Quasair rangehood. Our Hamptons hood is framed by two picturesque sash windows and push to open cabinets above.

Our client’s priority was harmony. With Harrington Kitchens designing their kitchen, fireplace, living room, laundry, and all bathroom vanities, there is a familiarity and continuity within the home.

The TV area allows for ample storage in the fluted glass overhead cabinets and in the cabinets below the stone bench. Both the stone and fluted glass are a nod to the kitchen in the adjacent room.

The Hamptons fireplace is cosy in Dulux Lexicon Quarter and yet timeless with the natural beauty of Carra Goia honed marble. The kicks match the skirting boards of the entire home.

The laundry and bathroom vanities showcase polished Carrara Reale Cicero stone. The laundry incorporates a Miele front loading washing machine and dryer, with a large single Belfast fluted butlers sink. The softness of the moss green tiles makes the laundry feel inviting rather than a chore.

The bathroom vanities are complex. They are unique and are a result of excellent craftsmanship. It seemed only fitting that they deserved the flattery of Dulux’s Ticking (powder room) and Cosy Corner (main double vanity).

It must be said, our clients’ attention to detail was second to none. It was a privilege and an honour they chose Harrington Kitchens to create their dream home.
