Our clients wanted to bring this 20-year-old, brick home, in step with the demands of a young family; this left no other choice, than the complete relocation of the existing kitchen. Being a single story with truss ceilings meant walls could be removed easily to make way for the large island and an open plan.

With two young children, the resilience of melamine was decided as the best material for longevity and Classic White for open plan modernity. They used Kethy’s Olympia Oak knobs on doors, and L7804 lip handles on drawers. These oak handles carry through the natural oak of timber floors and the warmth of the benchtop.

The 40mm thick, Calacatta Oro is from Smartstone’s Low Silica Ibrido range. With sweeping veins on the waterfall end, Calacatta Oro mimics the natural movement of marble.

The mirrored glass splash reflects the greenery of the garden and agrees with the open plan.

Our clients chose Westinghouse for the electric oven, induction cooktop and rangehood.  Miele for the under-bench dishwasher next to the inset double bowl and a large Samsung fridge for the hustle and bustle of grumbling stomachs.
