Contemporary Two-Toned Kitchen Harrington Park

A touch of warmth with a fresh, modern vibe. Our client’s son, an architect, had a vision for his mother’s kitchen in Harrington Park- a contemporary two-toned space to feel warmth and inviting. With their palate and our designers skills, they brought the vision to life with the perfect blend of style and functionality.
To form this two-toned look a flat matte polyurethane in Lexicon quarter was chosen for the lower island bench cabinets, while the Polytech Plantation Ash on the wall cabinetry. This brings a natural, texture that’s both stylish and inviting. You’ll notice no handles on the cabinet doors, as each cabinet was designed with a push-to-open features, adding a touch of elegance and functionality. All cabinets are soft close, ensuring a smooth and quiet operation which not only enhances the cabinetry lifespan but is perfect for the harmony of the home.
To create a visual break and highlight the wood’s natural patterns stainless steel appliances were added. The Westinghouse fridge, Smeg oven, Smeg microwave, Smeg cooktop and Whispair rangehood are all placed in the wall cabinetry, blending seamlessly with the overall design.
Functionality and making the best use of space were key design aspects when creating this kitchen. The lowered steel framed island has been cladded in YDL stone to create an intimate dining extension, offering dual uses – one for dining one for prepping.
The island is fitted with an Abey double sink and matching stainless steel taps, including the Gareth Ashton gooseneck pull-out mixer tap, which adds a contemporary flair to the space.
The final touch that completes the design is the matching splashback to the island countertop, crafted from YDL’s elegant Summer Breeze stone. The soft, warm grey veins flow gently across the slab, blending with cool, fresh tones of grey and white. This design emulates the flow and feeling of dining in fresh Summer Breeze.
